After going on a hunt for the northern light in the Arctic Circle, now it was time to come back to civilization and be a city dweller for a week in the previous capital of Russia, St Petersburg.
First step out of the metro and I already know that this will be one of my favorite city in Russia. It's like traveling in Europe with all the beautiful architecture, liveliness and colors but at half the price. The Hermitage museum is one of my favorite museum of all. I could spend days just getting lost in that labyrinth of rooms and corridors full of stunning work of art.
One of the best view you can get in St Petersburg is from the top level of the St Isaac Cathedral where you can get a 360 view of this city from above. Be sure to go up to the balcony!
