Last time I was in Spain, I wanted to go to Portugal but I didn't have time so I decided that with my trip in Eastern Europe, I'd do whatever it takes to get to Porto, and so I did. Even though, it was a little further away from where i wanted to spend my limited time in Europe, thanks to Ryanair I was able to make it anyway before I have to leave the continent.
Porto, a beautiful port city full of wine, seafood and colorful houses was a much-needed change from the east and the north of Europe. The sound of the seagull was a welcome change as well as the smell of the ocean. It is also considerably cheaper than many parts of Europe but with enough infrastructure that you feel comfortable to be here. Even though I didn't get a good weather, it was still a memorable trip through and through.
