When I first found a cheap flight from Pakistan to Oman, I wasn't sure how I would enjoy a country that is not catering to budget travelers like me, but the more I did research the more I realize that there are many ways to save cost in Oman and still get to see all the cool places in the country.
Public transportation around the country is not well-established and so if one wants to see all the cool places, one has to rent a car to drive themselves. I'm usually not a type of travelers who travel to a country and rent a car for convenience but due to the lack of options, I had no choice but to do it.
Surprisingly, I did quite enjoy driving around the country at my own pace. It is my first time driving abroad and boy, was it fun! Also, with the gas price so low in Oman, it's quite cheap to travel around in a rented car.
Now comes the expensive part of Oman, the accommodation, so instead of biting the bullet and stay in hotels, I decided to stay in an Airbnb in Muscat and slept in my car when traveling around the country. Wild camping is legal in Oman so that makes it easy to find a quiet spot to spend the night.
In Muscat, I spent the first day getting use to my car and drive to the Corniche promenade for an evening stroll and visited the Grand Mosque Qaboos the next day and off I went to the countryside.
Here are all the photos from Muscat! :)
