People have asked if I was crazy to go Russia during winter, and maybe i was but the sole reason why I decided to go in November was to celebrate my birthday under the phenomenal that is the Northern Lights.
Every year since I started traveling, I have had the opportunity to celebrate this occasion in my own ways from German rap battle in Dresden to skydiving in New Zealand. In order to stick to this personal tradition, I decided to go out and hunt the northern light in the Arctic Circle city of Murmansk, Russia on 11/11.
The weather was not promising at first but as the sun dipped behind a snowy hill, the sky started to clear up. We went out at around 10:30pm and at first, it was almost impossible to see it with a naked eyes but after a while, there it was, the beautiful green aurora borealis magnificently dancing in front of my very eyes.
