Reason: "I realized there's a remote temple inside a mountain 3 hours drive away from Bangkok. It's so near, yet I just realized it exists."
I've discovered this place recently while I was looking around for a place to go near Bangkok. Apparently this stunning remote temple inside a mountain is only 3 hours drive away from Bangkok so I decided to pursue this goal right away.
Locations: Since I have only a day, I decided to go to 2 places inside the Khao Sam Roi Yod national park in Pranburi, Prachuab Kiri Khan, Thailand. The first place was the Sam Roi Yod Field (ทุ่งสามร้อยยอด), a very remote and quiet field, filled with water all year. A Great place for birds watching.
The second place was the Prayanakorn Cave, the highlight of this trip. There're 2 ways for you to go to this cave. By trekking up 2 mountains or take a boat and walk up only one mountain. I took the boat to save energy for the second mountain. Although it's only 425m, it was super steep. It took me half an hour to get to the cave, including boat trip. It tired as hell but was worth it! The best time to be here is around 10:30 AM because the light will shine directly on the temple creating a very beautiful shine. I arrived there around 3:30 PM so you won't be able to see it in my pictures, but it's still beautiful.
