The port of Gdansk held a fascinating and complex role in the European history, but why was it that I have never heard of these amazing stories? Is it not known outside of Europe, or my education failed me?
Either way, Gdansk is a beautiful port city, once free from any kind of alignment only 80 years ago. The beautiful old port and the really long market are a few things you must see here. Plus, Westerplatte, 30 mins away from Gdansk is an open air museum dedicated to telling a story of the first crash between the Polish and the Nazi force that initiate a long and violent series of incidents that is now called World War 2. A truly fascinating city from history to its beauty.
