Are you guys ready to see the mountains of North Pakistan? As I began my journey to traversed the entire Pakistan Karakoram Highway, I took an 18 hours bus northward from Pakistan. That in itself was already an experience with me going through at least 7 police checkpoints along the Highway and once I arrived, I started off my first hike in the one of the most beautiful places in Pakistan, the Fairy Meadows. My first goal for North Pakistan is to see Nanga Parbat, the 8th highest mountain in the world and as some called it, the Killer Mountain, as close as I possibly can and hiking the Fairy Meadows will allow me just that.
It was almost off season and some places were not open up in Fairy Meadows but fortunately, I met a guy who his father is supposed to be a mayor of something of Gilgit, and he connected me with one of the owner of a resort up in Fairy Meadows and he organized everything for me. What a great guy! If you are in Fairy Meadows, go stay at the Greenland Resort, they have the best view from all the lodges up there.
