Reason: "Flight to Ayers Rock booked. All I have to do now is show up. I have always wanted to see the sacred Ululu mountain, hoping to see the milky way shines across the outback. "
Kings Canyon, one of the not so common trip for people heading to Uluru, but definitely the best of all. The reason why people don't come here is mainly because of the 3 hours ride from Uluru one-way and so it will take you the whole day starting at 4 AM until 5PM. I wasn't expecting much from the trip since the highlight was the Uluru, but Kings Canyon offers a much more varieties of landscapes and rocks formation that are drastically different from its counterpart. Another exciting activity we did was the rim walk, a 3 hours trek that will let you explore this beautiful landscape while walking on the edges of the canyon. Our break was at the Garden of Eden where we rested for a good 30 minutes. This moment in particular was so magical that I will probably remember for the rest of my life. As people were settling in, no one spoke a word. Everyone were sitting, enjoying the sound of water, wildlife, wind, and trees. It was like everyone were mesmerized by the beauty of the canyon. Everyone were speechless. I remember that it was so quiet that I almost rest my eyes and start dreaming. It was totally worth the 4 AM wake up and a 3 hours walk.
If you like walking, looking at beautiful rock formations, this is highly recommended. Go for the Rim Walk (3 hours trek) and prepare 3 liters of water before you go (it's the law), and you will not be disappointed.
