Me and my friends went to Koh Lipe, a small island of the Andaman Sea, in the Satun Province of southwest Thailand a few days. We ate like the locals, got several raw fishes from the fishermen, grilled them with fire from the surrounding woods. It was not something you can do everyday, eating fresh fishes from the ocean.
The island is one of the most remote and untouched island in Thailand. Not too crowded like Phi Phi island probably because it takes longer to arrive.
Koh Lipe Access
We took a plane from Bangkok to Hat Yai airport (1 hour 25 minutes) and then we rent a bus to take us to Pak Bara to ride a speed boat to Koh Lipe (2 hours). During the trip they will stop by and other beautiful islands around the area for you to take photographs.
When leaving the island, there will only be 2 boat schedule, 9 AM and 1 PM so be on time.
Koh Lipe Activities
Snorkeling is what I did for a day. Around Koh Lipe there are several spots for you to see coral reefs. They are divided into 2 parts, the inner parts and the outer parts.
If you are on a tight schedule you can swing by 4 - 5 locations a day both inner and outer parts like what I did.
If you are not then you can go each part per day.
If you like going to places that is not too crowded and where there are not many tourists. This is the place to be. Beautiful scenery (see the pictures) and very nice accommodation.
This is a 360 view of where I stayed. Neat isn't it? :)
